Resident Evil Requiem Gets a Demo, Three Months After Release

Capcom has finally released a demo for Resident Evil Requiem, giving players a free taste of this Game of the Year contender. The trial version arrives three months after the game's February launch and is now available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as on PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S.

"The demo version allows you to play part of the game's early stages," Capcom said in a statement today. "Please note that save data from the demo version cannot be transferred to the full version of the game."

Fans who have already downloaded the demo report that it includes Grace Ashcroft's initial exploration of the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center (after she wakes up hanging upside down), as well as a brief section as Leon (until he passes the Requiem gun to Grace). This should give players a good feel for both characters and introduce one of the game's most memorable monsters.

Capcom has already celebrated selling over 7 million copies of Resident Evil Requiem and confirmed that the game's massive success has boosted its financial outlook for the year. Requiem has been a hit with both fans and critics, earning a 9/10 in IGN's review.

Earlier this month, Capcom released a small roguelike add-on called Leon Must Die Forever, which is a decent freebie. But fans are far more excited for the game's full story DLC, expected later this year. Will we finally learn more about Leon's new piece of jewelry?
