Rockstar Games fans are paying eBay scalpers extra for GTA 6 pre-orders, even though there's little reason to. After pre-orders went live on June 25, listings for pricier versions of the Grand Theft Auto sequel appeared on the auction site. While the standard edition retails for $80, some scalpers have successfully flipped their pre-ordered copies for around $90 or more. This isn't surprising given the game's 13-year anticipation, but there's no actual shortage preventing players from pre-ordering at the standard price. To the dismay of physical collectors, GTA 6 will be digital-only at launch in November, as Rockstar has ditched discs. A physical edition exists but only contains a download code in the box. This means no stock shortages, and major retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, and Target still have code-in-box copies available. Yet, scalpers and buyers still flock to eBay. Listings include both physical boxes and digital copies, with some sellers noting no shipping fees for digital purchases. Physical copies incur delivery fees on top of inflated prices. GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Meanwhile, a new report claims Rockstar has no plans to release a disc version.
