A terminally ill GTA 6 fan has died just three weeks before the game's launch. In August, a man named Jerry, known online as Void Only, shared a viral TikTok video revealing he had been hospitalized with an interstitial lung disease and needed a lung transplant. He explained that his unique condition—his lungs attached to his chest wall—made any surgery bloody and dangerous. In the same post, he expressed his simple wish to play GTA 6 and joked about Rockstar's repeated delays. Fellow players rallied around him in the comments, rooting for him to hold on until the game's release. A GoFundMe was set up to cover his transplant and other expenses, raising $50,000 in just days. In September, Jerry received his transplant, but complications eventually caused him to lose bodily function. Jerry's sister confirmed on his social media that he passed away over the weekend, expressing deep gratitude to everyone who helped and supported him. The news comes only three weeks before GTA 6's release, which Jerry had planned to stream with his community. In the comments of his sister's post, fans shared their sorrow that Jerry couldn't make it to the launch of the game he had eagerly awaited. "I was really rooting for him. I'm sorry for your loss," one commenter wrote. Another said, "I'm adding Void to my gamertag in his honor when GTA releases." The tragic outcome has left supporters devastated. Jerry remained optimistic in his final months, keeping a positive attitude that inspired fans to share his enthusiasm. His sister also noted that his mother plans to hold a balloon release in his honor, with more details to be shared later.
