Leaked Images Reveal Cancelled Tiny Tina's Wonderlands Sequel and New Brothers in Arms Game

Development images for a Tiny Tina's Wonderlands sequel and a new Brothers in Arms game have surfaced online, following reports that both projects were scrapped. MP1st, which published the work-in-progress images, reported that the games were being developed at Lost Boys Interactive, a studio formerly owned by Embracer that regained independence last year. Embracer sold Gearbox to Take-Two, the parent company of 2K Games, in 2024. Lost Boys Interactive had previously worked on the original Tiny Tina's Wonderlands—a fantasy spinoff of Gearbox's highly successful Borderlands franchise—as well as Borderlands 4, so it's not surprising to see evidence of their involvement in the sequel. In fact, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands was such a commercial success that a sequel seemed inevitable. In 2022, Gearbox chief Randy Pitchford called the game a 'major victory,' adding that the developer saw it as a new franchise with 'future experiences already under development.' During an Embracer Group annual general meeting, Pitchford said, 'Wonderlands shattered all of our target expectations, both critically and commercially, and I'm thrilled to report that in addition to great financial rewards from this victory that will be coming our way in the coming quarters, we have established a firm beachhead, and we now clearly have a new franchise on our hands.' However, since then, there has been no word on a new Tiny Tina's Wonderlands game. Gearbox has yet to announce its next project following last year's release of Borderlands 4. Meanwhile, the last mainline Brothers in Arms game was 2008's Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway. A fourth entry in the WWII shooter series, Furious 4, was cancelled and eventually morphed into the ill-fated hero shooter Battleborn. Over the years, Pitchford has hinted that a new Brothers in Arms game was in the works, but it never came to fruition. The leaked images don't reveal much about the games themselves, other than that they were in development. Were they cancelled as part of Gearbox's sale to Take-Two? Are there new versions of each game in development somewhere at Gearbox? IGN has reached out for comment.
