Pearl Abyss, the developer behind Crimson Desert, has finally unveiled detailed performance specifications for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions, just over a week before the game's launch. As anticipated, the performance benchmarks vary significantly across the console lineup, from the less powerful Xbox Series S to the high-end PlayStation 5 Pro.

For each console, including the base PS5 and Xbox Series X, the developer has provided information on up to three modes: Performance, Balanced, and Quality. These details include resolution, target frame rates, and the extent of raytracing enabled. However, despite confirming these performance figures, Pearl Abyss has not released any new footage of the game running on consoles today.

The console versions of Crimson Desert have recently faced criticism, with some fans online accusing Pearl Abyss of concealing the PlayStation and Xbox versions before launch. This has raised concerns about a potential repeat of the Cyberpunk 2077 situation, where buggy and underperforming console versions were not shown prior to release.

Last week, a spokesperson for the highly anticipated open-world action game urged fans to 'let us cook' and promised to reveal the console version when it was ready, even with the launch just days away. 'We're not hiding anything, and I'm sick of having to repeat myself,' said Pearl Abyss spokesperson Will Powers. 'I've said hundreds of times that we'll reveal details ahead of launch to give people enough time to preorder. We're being transparent... Let us cook? Please and thank you. /rant'

In addition to console specs, today's update includes technical specifications for PC, Mac, and ROG Ally versions. To achieve 4K at 60fps with ultra graphics on PC, players will need an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti or an AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT.

Last month, Powers mentioned that the development team at Pearl Abyss is intensifying its optimization efforts to ensure smooth performance across all platforms before Crimson Desert's release. The game is set to launch on March 19 with a price tag of $69.99. Pearl Abyss has also confirmed that Crimson Desert will not feature a cosmetic cash shop or any form of microtransactions.
